With Christmas around the corner, the month of festivities has started and with it the month of celebration, excitement, sharing, gifting and decorations.
Involving kids in celebrations, decorations, planning etc. is a great idea and for that creating handmade crafts, gifts, decor stuff is excellent way – to help them understand and feel the joy and happiness ; and keep them busy for a while 😉 .
Here I am presenting absolutely simple, no-mess, economic/low cost, easy and quick DIY Christmas crafts, tree decor and gift ideas.. which can be made with the regular stationary supplies at home.
This is an absolutely easy no-sew 5-minute DIY Snowman, made with old sock stuffed with rice or any grain. The toddler chose the scarf and buttons and hat decorations.
Super simple craft. Cut a green felt into tree shape, stick on other felt sheet. Cut Felt ornamants, santa hat, socks, star etc. and stick with velcro. Other embellishments, stones, pompoms can also be used for decorations. READ HERE.
I know it looks bit over-crowded, but couldn’t dare to stop the toddler.
The big star on top of tree is glow-in-the-dark star. Trust me this activity doesn’t take too much time to prepare but keeps kids engaged for really long and they don’t get bored easily. They can keep changing position of velcro decors.
TIP: Don’t let kids stick the embellishments, stones, pompoms and stars and let them keep re-arranging these every time TO REUSE the tree 😉
Anyone likes Icecreams in winter??
This red- nosed Popsicle reindeer took 5 minutes maximum to take the shape. It can be hung on the tree or anywhere else.
Very good idea for toddlers or pre-schoolers to gift friends.
4. STARS & SNOWFLAKES
The Popsicle stars and snowflakes can have endless variations and colors. 5 minute to make. Can be hung on tree or anywhere else in house. Absolutely beautiful handmade gifts.
Don’t forget the glitters!!
5. MEMORY GAME
A simple yet effective way of keeping kids engaged and letting them be familiar. I have quickly drawn these on a thick white chart paper, prints outs is also a good option.
These cards can be used for matching or playing memory games.
Clothespin angel took hardly any time but looked super cute. I didn’t have pipe cleaner for halo so used felt strip for halo and wings.
This was the most fun craft project for my little one.
The icing of cardboard cake is done with shaving foam mixed with white glue and decorated with stars and pompoms.
I had to forcefully stop him from covering the whole cake with foam 😉
