Toddlers and kids gets bored every 15 minutes. their time-span on any one activity is usually not more than 10-15 minutes.

And after every 15 minutes, we need to hunt down for new ideas, or Pinterest (as in my case) to search for no-preparation activities.

Here I am presenting a compiled list of quick, easy, no-preparation, 15-minute craft activities for toddlers and young kids, because I feel your pain mommy!

  1. PAPER PLATE CRAFTS

I have stacked paper plates and they are always a savior for a quick-fix craft. A cute paper plate OWL mask made in 15-minutes.

EASY PAPER PLATE CRAFTS

Paper plates are the most easiest and quick to make along with giving scope for variety and creativity and great for teaching about alphabets, animals etc.. You might also like to try a Paper Plate Elephant.

2. POM POM CRAFTS

We just love the colorful pom poms. These can be helpful in refining fine motor skills as well. As I give my toddler a clothespin to pick these pom poms.

3. MAGIC MILK COLORING

It is a very easy and soothing science experiment to explain little ones reaction between milk and dish soap. It is amazing to see the color explosions. See the video on youtube channel

4. CARDBOARD CRAFTS

In a house with kid(s), cereal boxes, toy boxes are found in abundance. So making use of these, we make excellent quick craft and set up some activity. Best part, there is no heart break when these crafts break ,.. serious issue right!! And bonus is you get to teach them to Recycle and Reuse.

5. CLAY-DOH CRAFTS

Clay-doh is great for refining fine motor and sensory skills. And gives way to creativity. There is no limit to imagination and enables kids to mould their ideas. Few of our creation are here.

6. MOSAIC ART

A great way to work on motor and sensory skills is by sticking bits and pieces of colored and different textured papers to form shapes, termed as Mosaic Art.

7. TISSUE ROLL CRAFTS

I have become a hoarder of Tissue rolls once I started indulging into crafting with my toddler.

This Octopus made of tissue roll is colored by my toddler.

10 SUMMER ACTIVITES

8. POINTILISM RAINBOW

The idea of using a q-tip or cotton swab dipped in water/poster colors is beneficial in refining fine motor skills of fingers, hand-eye co-ordination and color recognition. Absolutely easy to follow Rainbow with Pointilism.

Any type of object or scene can be created with pointilism technique.. and it looks unique and different than the regular form of coloring.

9. SALT ART

It is a very calming activity to see color running in both directions over salt art. Very easy to follow and minimal requirements, full video is here.

With this super easy peasy salt art, we make carve names, letters, words or just any random art.

Don’t worry mommy !! We got the solution for that too.

10. PICTURE COLLAGE

We do run out of craft supplies, very common mommy syndrome.

Simply cut out the pictures from old magazines, news papers, brochures etc. Hand over glue and a plain paper to little one.. and enjoy your cup of tea.The more pictures, the more “mommy time” you will get.. 😉

11. FORK FAMILY

Simply decorate forks with whatever is available and make fork family.

12. WAX RESIST ART

You might also like to try WAX RESIST TECHNIQUE with kids. A very easy and great way of creating out-of-the world master paintings with simple technique of crayons and water colors.

  1. a simple, easy to do collection of DIYs. My younger one isn’t an outdoor person and these super easy crafts are just what I was looking for. great help for mommies like us. u have taken care that the materials are easily available at home and they do not require so much of step by step learning as well.
