Cafe 302, Abu Dhabi – A Cafe with Kids Menu – Review

A baby brings so many changes in your life and lifestyle. We had stopped going out for dining or even a coffee over the weekends, for more than a year now. Take away or home delivery seems much more convenient option with a hyper active toddler, where everyone gets fed, at the least.

Any couple with kids would relate to it. One person runs around while other eats and then we switch jobs.. so no one gets to eat in peace. And of course we never get to know how the food tasted when it was hot.

Plus we need to carry tons of lunch boxes of baby food, including multiple back-up choices, because the toddler can anytime decide to give-up eating his favourite food or snack.

So recently I came to know about a new concept that a café at Al Maha Arjaan by Rotana Hotels have initiated in Abu Dhabi – KIDS MENU.

“Kids Menu

is especially designed for children and would include dishes/snacks/drinks generally preferred by kids of all ages”

So this CAFÉ 302 has great choices of cereals, pasta, burgers, fries, yummy desert treats particularly included in menu keeping kids in mind.

They recently won a Time Out Award as well.

They were so understanding and co-operative to customize our food as per our preference – vegetarian ingredients. Along with Kids Menu, they have a Vegan Menu as well.

What we tried:

Being a vegetarian, it’s quite disappointing that the options are very limited in a multi-cultural city like Abu Dhabi. And we never get proper vegetarian pastas at any restaurants. Here at Café 302, they actually made us a vegetarian Penne Pasta with tomato sauce and herbs.. and my pasta lover dinosaur boy just LOVED it.

Veg Burger:

YES the chef did make a Veg Burger. And that to with Red Lentil and Cauliflower patty with mint chutney – intrigued? So was I. It was something out of the world for a burger lover, who craves for a veg one (without egg or mayo). Highly recommended for vegetarians.

Sweet Potato Fries:

Another hit with my toddler. He devoured the fries like a boss. The fries were made of Sweet potato instead of the regular potato ones. And they tasted simply awesome.

Spinach & Kale Salad:

A very interesting combination of sweet dates, pomegranate and cashews with blatant spinach and pungent kale leaves. I am a vegetarian but not leafy person when it comes to salad. But I totally recommend this salad for you will start loving green leaves.

Café mocha is recommended (comes with a cookie, and they even have delicious oats eggless cookies). They do have milk shakes and fruit juices which kids would enjoy.

Peaceful, serene, quiet, beautifully decorated with subtle colored interiors, away from city’s hustle. Mom can actually read her favorite magazine (yes they have a magazine collection as well) while the baby relishes his meals with the coloring and puzzles activities (that they provide to kids).

Friendly, co-operative, gentle staff.

This is the best part – situated in the centre of the city in busiest area. So no need to go far to enjoy a coffee in peace; and of course while it is still hot (I think most of the moms can relate). This Café 302 at Hamdan Street is your COFFEE STOP and you can bring the kid along. Hurrah!!
